When I heard Neil Armstrong had passed away, it took me a while to hit me fully. I saw people send messages of remembrance and commemoration, and decided I should do my own, to show how much respect I have for a real American hero:
el SOOPer@SooperMexican Neil Armstrong represented American hope, pride and excellence. And he took us to the moon. Godspeed on your trip through the heavens. 25 Aug 12 ReplyRetweetFavorite It is nearly literally the least I could do for someone that symbolized American greatness so thoroughly, and in so many aspects.
You know what I didnt think to do? I didnt think to post a picture of myself to remember Neil Armstrong. Never got into my mind that this was a good way to remember his greatness.
But then, Im not president mompants:
Thanks for finding it and posting here-—it’s worth keeping an eye on!
And THIS particular item has been sent to many via e-mail, who appreciate all that Armstrong accomplished and represented.
I think it came from Obama’s twitter account. It was an old stock photo too....Obama could not even be bothered to do something new.
Pathetic.
Uhhh??? Maybe it’s a drone. Where are you if you don’t mind saying?
Ping
Obama’s WH is starting to remind me of a weird cult. They say that Obama has put pictures of himself up all over the WH too.
OK a couple of things--Obama, as the president, should be referring to Neil as Neil ARMSTRONG.
Next--he used the word further instead of a contextual farther.
Next--his words:
"Neil's spirit of discovery lives on in all men and women who have devoted their lives to exploring the unknown--including those who are ensuring that we reach higher and go further in space.
He's not talking about ground control or R&D support *indiviuals*...he's talking about CENTRAL PLANNING--government.
He's saying that "Neil" (should also have said Armstrong) DIDN'T BUILD THAT--that he didn't "go there."
I knew it was him the instant I saw it: all the telling
details were there: the ears, the hands in pockets, the over-composed photo itself and how it manages to both put Obama at the center of it, while suggesting he is humble and awestruck (mainly by his own humility).
It’s beyond tone-deaf-—it’s shamelessly manipulative and cynical, and shows it will use EVERY occasion to associate
Obama with anything it can for political gain.
Very salient post, CCg.
Un-friggin-believable....
Excellent observations!
Strange too that Obama would even have the nerve since he cut our space program to the bone.
Exactly.
Do you have a link to a picture of obamma doing this?
Looks like it came off Obama’s twitter account. It’s for real. It is all over twitter now. I didn’t go look for it. I don’t do anything Obama....lol.
Here you go. Came off the Obama/Biden tumbler account

That’s my city! He was in Portland this weekend?
LOL!!!
Yes, good points.
When the narcissist Obama wants to make indelibly clear
the association between himself and, well, ANYONE whose image and accomplishments he can exploit, he invariably goes for the over-familiar “first-name-basis” ploy. Like when he publicly
memorialized Gabrielle Giffords as “Gabby”.
You see, we’re all his children.
RIGHT! Bet that’s exactly what he was thinking of when looking at the moon-probably had a “mohammatingle” up his leg!/s;)
To be fair, I don’t think the reporterettes write those little banners;)
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
