Too late. He had several dry runs (TN Flood, Gulf Coast Oil Spill) and flunked them all.

The media will praise him for days no matter what happens if they can just get ‘Katrina’ in the story.

Darn, I was hoping it would head this way...

You mean the New Orleans we sank billions of dollars into to rebuld, the one which lost like 150,000 in population?

I can guarantee you, most people don't care.

Up until Katrina, it was never a federal obligation or expectation to take the lead in rendering aid after natural disasters (the unexpected.)
For every other state, the old rules apply. State disasters are a state's obligation to prepare for, and to take the lead in rescue, shelter and cleanup.

Hard to remember that it took the most corrupt and clueless state to change the rules of the game for every other state --- for the worse.

Not having to exercise prudence, to budget for the unexpected, has empowered irresponsible states, like California, to spend into oblivion, and to pretend national disasters no longer exist.

Remarkably, a growing army of parasites and morons think this is a good thing.

A couple of things to remember. First, the certainty associated with these models is pretty low, and a more eastern track is as likely as a western one; this storm is a likely to hit Pensacola as it is to hit New Orleans. Secondly, Issac is no Katrina - it will be a much weaker storm.

AL or FL panhandle hit. Strong cat 1 or weak cat 2 which is not a big deal for FL or AL. We can tell that idiot to stay home and keep his (our)money. His endless photo op trips would only get in the way.

Maybe. But who is in charge now in New Orleans? No more idiot Nagin. Plus we have Jindal there. And this will be a much weaker storm than Katrina. If they try that, it’ll be easy to shoot down.

But yes ... the Dems are likely to get a big bounce after their convention. They’ll slam the GOP’s convention and will have slick Willie speaking and Obama will deliver a great speech with his teleprompter.

Haven't looked at the latest forecasts, but last time I checked Isaac was disorganized with no well-defined eye, and was predicted to make landfall in FL as a category 1 hurricane (just one step up from tropical storm status). It might intensify but it's not predicted to. Landfall looks to be, best guess, somewhere in the FL panhandle.

Just for comparison, Katrina IIRC was a category 4 or 5 when it hit NO.

Don't want to make light of 90mph winds, but Isaac is a long way from a "Perfect Storm". It could be nothing more than a heavy rainstorm when it hits. Variables: Where and when - if it stikes at high tide, that's bad. If it hits a city as opposed to an empty beach, that's bad too.

The MSM may try to pump it up to knock the convention off the front pages, but I predict they'll have trouble finding dramatic footage.

JMHO
