Listening to some on FR, Todd Akin is not responsible for his own words, that gave the Missouri senate election to Clair McCaskill.

We really need to stop blaming the GOPe and take them over.

I am in Missouri that ‘swing’ state that the majority of Akin supporters have NO clue what the politics literally are.
Confusion is what has been spewed, I saw an Akin ad yesterday still apologizing and I come on here and find out that Akin was right.
Well, since this is a mission from God, I have NO doubt the Akin supporters will fully fund his campaign.
I expect them to resurrect Akin.... by making his campaign coffers flush with the required cash to ‘win’.

It little matters now. Time to let dead dogs lie. He came out 3 hours ago and said he ain't goin'. I take him at his word.
If you know any old line PCA you will understand. But again, Todd Akin is the Republican candidate for Senator from Missouri.
And those of us here in Missouri will vote for him because the alternative is nightmarish. Mother McCaskill will only bring us tax hikes, gun bans, and Kenya-Care. It is who she is...

Aside from Sarah Palin, Todd Akin in the only Repubican in a generation who has stood up to the GOPe and the Liberal Media.
Todd is a Fighter and will keep fighting for Life in the Senate.

Unfortunately, Palin did not stand up to the GOPe for Akin. She was going to help the Third Place in the primary run a Third Party campaign...effectively helping McCaskill to win

“I come on here and find out that Akin was right.”
Right about what? Certainly not about biology. He may have been speaking from the right place in terms of policy (re: the ‘rape ‘), but he was quite wrong in what he actually said. Wrong, and politically moronic.

Who is responsible for damage caused by Akin's fiasco? Willard Mitt Romney, the GOP-e, Ann Coulter and the lap dog conservative establishment types.
Had the idiot Romney not attempted to demonize Akin a deal could have been worked out for him to exit the race gracefully and, perhaps, even allow him to go back and run for his old House seat.
If not for all the bullying by Willard and the GOP-e, social conservatives wouldn't be rallying to Akin's defense and feel disenfranchised. The drop of support for Romney is Missouri is very likely the result of a backlash by conservatives against his handling of the Akin situation. You reap what you sow. If the establishment and its supporters are going to behave like classless goons then parts of the base will be alienated and Republican chances at all levels will be diminished.
This precisely the sort ineptitude I would have expected from a liberal like Romney. He'll cause far greater damage to the party and conservative movement if he gets into office, just as he did to GOP in Massachusetts.
Yet, we have willfully blind idiots thinking Romney is going to be the next Ronald Reagan.

Who is responsible for twisting his words, ignoring his apology and making a big issue of it?
"There were talking point memos sent from the National Republican Senatorial Committee suggesting language to urge Akin to drop out. Political consultants were ordered to stay away from Akin or lose future business with GOP committees. Operatives were recruited to set up a network of pastors to call Akin to urge him to get out. Money has changed hands to push him off the plank."
Who cares enough about it to change their vote?
Obamas Democratic support in the state remains largely unchanged at 96%, and voters not affiliated with either major party still favor Romney by 20 points. But Republican support in Missouri for the partys likely nominee has fallen from 94% in late July to 85% now,
I thought the Dems were having trouble energizing their base yet they got no increase of support from them over this. Only the metrosexual GOP-Ers who are afraid to back the pro-life plank are bothered about it at all.

Reminder to the Akin supporters send cash to 'resurrect' the Akin campaign.... you alll have said he can win, now get-r-done!!!

We really need to stop blaming the GOPe and take them over. How is that going to happen if Romney is elected?! The GOP-e will further its control over the party under Romney's direction.

If Akin withdrew tomorrow, how would you see this campaign playing out over the next two and a half months? I’m not trying to be a jackass.....I really am interested in knowing why so many people on FR want this guy to go. I don’t live in his state. I just want to see the strategy for winning this race if Akin withdraws.
