Apple stole the GUI and mouse from Xerox. When are the penalties for THAT?
Xerox’s suit was dismissed because they took too long to file it. Apple was suing MS at the time and if Xerox sued Apple and won then both Apple and MS would have been liable to Xerox. Interesting enough is that Apple didn’t win the “look and feel” lawsuit against MS. Except for one tiny thing, the trash icon.
Apple paid in stock, which Xerox later sold for millions. When are the penalties for THAT?In fact, itd be interesting to know whether Xeroxs market capitalization is worth as much today as the AAPL stock that it sold back then is would bring now if they still had it.
It wasnt Steve Jobs fault that Xerox didnt know how to, or even to, bring the GIU to the mass market. But they didnt, and the value they got from it was selling Jobs access to their version of GUI. The Mac was Steves version of that GUI, different in implementation and made for the rest of us."
