A U.S. jury on Friday said Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has infringed some of Apple Inc's patents, and that all of those patents are valid.
The verdict in the high-stakes trial between the two tech giants was still being read in a federal courtroom in San Jose, California, and not all of the key legal findings had been announced.

You’ve nailed it. If Xerox had been wise, had MARKETING SAVVY and more VISION than they did, they actually might have become bigger than IBM, Microsoft and Apple are today COMBINED. It’s not enough to have an idea—you have to do something with it that people will demand.
I can't speak for their computers, but every Samsung product I have bought: HDTV, Home Theater, and cell phone, have all had problems within a year after purchase. Thankfully I had a 5 year extended warranty on the TV because there were continual problems with it. The TV died on me last fall. They told me the electrical system had gone on it and that it would cost too much to fix. Of course, the warranty had run out in the spring. I had a 3 year warranty on the home theater. I had bought it not long after the TV. That died a year before the TV, but at least I got the money back on it from the extended warranty. The cell phone died within the year I started using it, and because I had insurance on it, Verizon replaced it for free. I'll never buy another Samsung product as long as I live. I've had Apple computers for years, and have never had any of them die on me, or have to go into the shop. When I buy a new one, I pass the old one down to my youngest son.

While I have been viewing this thread with bemusement, watching fellow conservatives devolve into verbal civil war over whose phone is better, your comment above clearly violates a key capitalist principle.
In a free market, products that are freely purchased cannot be "overpriced." They simply command the price that the market will bear. There is no intrinsic worth, or lack thereof, to any product. Each is merely worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That is why the liberal argument that teachers should be paid more than athletes because of their presumed "worth" to society is so silly.
I assure you that the market will determine whether Apple products are overpriced, and so far the resounding answer is "no, they are not."
I do not think anyone here wants to see Apple be the only smart phone manufacturer out there.
You are correct about Xerox. They started leading from behind after the 914.
SmallTalk was 30 years ago. Many SmallTalk concepts ended up in many languages, including C#. Objective C isn’t SmallTalk, and your ignorance shows a lack of critical thinking.
I have a Samsung 42" LCD TV that I purchased in November of 2003 (I remember buying it two days before Thanksgiving when my old 35" picture tube tv that weighted a million pounds finally gave out, and I needed a TV for family coming to visit over the holiday.)
That Samsung TV is still in the same corner of my family room, working just fine. ZERO problems.
Come to think of it, the Samsung HDD's in my computer's are all still working fine too. I've replaced a number of Seagate's and WD's over the years, these Samsung SpinPoint drives just keep on chugging.
Soon all the computers and all the computer tech in the world will be gay.

It’s scary really. Obsession with toys is a rather disturbing trait :-). These are the same kind of people that make fools of their selves parading around San Francisco during certain pride weeks.
And, no, I am not implying all Apple users are like that ... just a certain, select, elite few here on FR and worldwide :-) ... I have too many friends that love Apple to make that a blanket statement :-).

Next time I see our town alcoholic at the local bar banging away on his iPhone, I’ll remind myself how smart and successful he is to the elitist wing of the Apple movement :-). I mean, the elites always drive home the point that only the brilliant and successful use Apple, right?

Don’t know details, but I’ve traveled to Korea many times during the 80’s. Back then it was known as “the Land of the Almost Right.” They copied anything successful, always with a slight flaw, but over the years Ive noticed the flaws are disappearing. This doesn’t surprise me knowing their culture. Highly aggressive and competitive country, compared with their fellow Koreans in the North and their other competitor, Japan. I would not be surprised if they overtake Japan. This country does understand socialism leading to communism more than any other.

Yes, they do. I had ordered a Baritone conversion neck from them. Just the “Plain Jane”$180 model. They cashed my check, and lost the order. When I called them, they were very shocked. Two days later, I received a conversion neck in the mail. A $400+ dollar neck, curly maple, with a million Birdseyes! Great company! On this thread I’m Hu. Just look at the neck they sent me!
