Going to see Vai tomorrow night at the House Of Blues, Myrtle Beach.
I know a lot of people don’t like his brand of music. Too quirky etc... But the sheer variety of the talent contained in that man is unreal.
I mean, here’s a guy that can do something like FTLOG or ‘Whispering a prayer’ that’s technical/emotional one second, then do Hendrix convincingly the next and top it off with a bombastic “Burning the Church’ style tune with a full orchestra and hold his own against them in sum. And then fit right in with David Lee Roth or Whitesnake.
And he’s about as grounded as they come. Truly a unique human being...assuming he actually ‘is’ a human being ;)

The first I remember hearing Gary was “Still Got the Blues For You.” That beautiful guitar still sends chills up my spine.
Have to open up YouTube Downloader tonight and save these performances.
Thanks. Beautiful.
Funny....same with me. I was driving in Sacramento (still remember it vividly) when this amazing song comes on the car radio. I literally pulled off the road to listen; very rare for me.
I had heard about this guy named Gary Moore for years, but had never heard him before.
What is REALLY weird is that somehow, some way, I knew it was him. DJ hadn’t said his name or anything.....I just somehow knew that this had to be that Gary Moore guy I’d heard so much about. To this day, still no clue how I knew that.
Bought the CD immediately just to learn that title track. It remains, to this day, one of my all-time favorite songs.
Rest of the album is pretty darned amazing, as well.
check out Danny Gatton “Remington Ride” on Youtube some time.
you’d probably like it.
