Tough times. So many close to me are enduring such hard times. Our beloved country is under attack from so many forces. We deal with so many issues, problems daily....
I merely wish to offer the gift of music to my fellow FReepers. Music is a gift from God. I'm a guitarist of over 40 years; music has gotten me through so much....
Sit back....crank up your speakers.....and listen to one of the most amazing live performances you will ever hear. This is my man, Gary Moore....live, in Stockholm, in 1987 playing "Empty Rooms". If you don't know Gary's work, you have been deprived. If you know him as all guitarists worldwide do......you will see the majesty in this.
Enjoy.

RIP Gary Moore
Amen, brother.....amen.
I respect your choice of music and post. But I will share what I am enjoying this evening. Thoughts?

His live version of the Rory Gallagher staple, “The Messiah Will Come Again”...at Montreux, where he was a staple for years. Unreal. Talk about Santana’s emotion in his guitar playing all you wish...and I have tremendous respect for Carlos Santana....but he pales in comparison.

I do think malmsteen is the best ever. I hope others check this one out..

Dammit. Isn’t working on my mobile device. :0(..
Rory is on of the greatest but The Messiah Will Come Again
Was Roy Buchanan.
Malmsteen is amazing.....a true artist. A technical player with true classical sensibilities.
Love his work. Hats off, all ‘round.
I still say he doesn’t hold a candle to Gary.
I respect that. I will listen to a few tunes shortly...
Heavens.....you are SO right; I typed in the name of the wrong Irishman. Accept my humble apologies and gratitude for the correction.
Gary was from Belfast. Irish blues players like Buchanan and Gallagher were important....but Peter Green was by far his biggest influence in his teen years.
Before Gary delved into his blues roots....listen to this instrumental, “The Loner”. Although he had an amazing singing voice, this was an instrumental. To my mind, as a longtime guitarist of the same genre.....the prettiest chorus ever recorded.

One sign of a truly great guitar player....is what they draw, pull out of other musicians. Gary has played with the best....across the board. Watch this incredible of video of him playing “The Thrill Is Gone” with B.B. King (who LOVED Gary). B.B. knew full well that Gary could mop the floor with him on guitar....so did Gary. Yet, watch the RESPECT Gary shows B.B.
At the same time....as respectful as he is here....watch closely; watch as the younger master pulls an unreal performance from the old master. This is how it should always be done; this is proper.....Gary respectfully challenging one of his blues idols, B.B. stepping up as I’ve never seen him play before.

Now....the same principle....a truly great guitarist pulling the best from other greats...
This was George Harrison’s last live concert. Watch him playing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” with Gary on lead guitar. Look at George....closely. The joy. Laughing.....at the amazing licks Gary puts to his (George’s) signature tune. Then....watch as Gary, again, respectfully coaxes an amazing performance from George.

Both of them now gone...George, Gary. HUGE losses to the world, both.
saved for later. thanks!
Music is my life blood too FRiend. Thanks for the post.
