Check the dates on the polling...guessing that many of the calls were made before Akin made his idiotic comments on Sunday morning. There is at least one other poll which indicates 50% of Missouri voters believe he should go...I’m with them; if Akin remains in the race, he’s toast, and McCaskill wins re-election. Give her a second term, and you’ve got another Patty Murray in the Senate; a feckless Dim who will occupy the seat until she dies...and you can just write off our chances of re-taking the Senate, too.
Quite a price to pay for Todd Akin’s ego....

A scientific fact? Are you for real? Is this why studies show that women have about a 5% chance of getting pregnant via rape and that we have roughly about 20,000+ women a year that end up pregnant as a result of rape.
Even in a forced rape, if the woman is at a fertile time in her calender, if the rapist ejaculates inside her, the semen will reach an egg, it will get fertilized and she will get pregnant. Pregnancy during rape is rare because well....getting pregnant isn’t necessarily that easy in the first place, but to say it doesn’t happen.....wow.
Or wait, do you believe like Akin that there’s some magic sperm goalkeeper that the woman unleashes that keeps them outta there?
Excuse me, but Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association understands that Rep. Akin’s statements about legitimate rate are in fact legitimate.
Let’s say you own a business. You have an employee who is loyal and believes in your business 110%. But he is also not very smart and prone to saying totally dumb things for no discernable reason.
Do you send this employee to represent you to get a big contract or new client?
Akin does not help conservatism and does not help the pro-Life cause. No matter how sincere he is about both causes he is a severe liability to both.
No, Akin’s premise is NOT a fact. Women’s bodies do not magically shut down during rape. Even Akin has attempted to take back that assertion. You are attempting to defend junk science that even Akin recognizes now was idiotic. All through history are examples of conquering armies raping their way though the territory of vanquished foes leaving huge numbers of pregnant women in their wake. Just 65 years ago or so the victorious Soviet army raped tens of thousands of German women - massive numbers of whom got pregnant. You sound as ridiculous as Akin claiming this half baked wives tale is serious science.
