Comedian Phyllis Diller -- who paved the way for today's female comics -- has died, TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Diller tell us the comedian died at her L.A. home, surrounded by family. She was 95.

We're told Diller had recently fallen, hurting her wrist and hip, and her health had been on the decline ever since. She had been living in hospice care at her home.

Diller suffered a heart attack in 1999 and was later fitted with a pacemaker.

My mom is 84 and has been falling recently. It has me worried. I don’t know what the heck it is.
Old age brings on a variety of problems that, if let unchecked, can result in dire consequences.
The best advice is to get her to a doctor quickly and let him/her do an evaluation. It could be something very "simple" and treatable.
In the meantime, have her avoid stairs if possible, and beware the shower/tub.

“Abe Vigoda is still not dead.”

I could have sworn Al Pacino had him whacked.

What a treasure trove of one liners she would have nowadays, just using politicians as her source.

That kind of material has got to beat a person down after a while. May explain why ended up in an early grave.

How wonderful! She was a lady and a dame, in the best sense and meaning of those words. God bless her.

I had to search out this thread to say RIP Phyllis Diller. I am sure you are happy in heaven with “Fang” now.

You were edgy before edgy was edgy. We loved you! We’ll miss you!

I wonder when she gave up smoking?

I read that the cigarette was a prop. She didn't smoke.

Oh Revolting, that is so sad. My condolences on the loss of your puppy.

“Then she died of morphine poisoning.”

I don’t think that is a fair thing to say, at all.

I don’t know if you are just being snarky and I’m very sorry if you had a bad experience. But I’ve had 2 family members who had in home hospice care and I assure you, and everyone, neither died of morphine overdoses.

Anybody who is getting hospice care is pretty much on the way out, we have to accept that death is part of life; miracles can happen, but sometimes, in the end all the time, people do die.

Again, I’m sorry if you had a bad experience, RIP to your loved ones.

My father died with in-home hospice coming once a day to take his vitals and do anything they could for my mother and I. When Dad died, he was on one medication, and it was ordinary, over-the-counter Tylenol. He had taken morphine months before, and Mom and I gave it to him. After the radiation shrunk the tumors, he didn’t need any morphine at all.

I, too, am sorry if you have had bad experiences with hospice and the death of a loved one. God bless.

I’m sorry, jocon307, my post was for Talisker in answer to your own experience with hospice care. It’s late and I forgot to add Talisker’s name as a recipient.
