What kind of a fad lasts 30-40 years? When the peace symbol and smiley face are the current “fads,” someone, somewhere is stuck in a time warp. Are the “fashion” designers living in groundhog-day-land? Everyone is always saying “let’s move on” about really serious issues, but the clothes industry seems to have been stuck in the late 60s for decades.
the smiley face hasn’t been in vogue since the mid 70’s.
I suspect it’s resurrection will be short lived.
I don’t think it is odd for any generation to wax nostalgically about their long lost youth.
