What a beautiful girl. I hope that the man who rescued her is able to keep her.

I can understand why the owner felt forced to abandon her, but I don’t understand why he didn’t go back later to try to rescue her.

A good dog would die for their owner.....

Too bad some owners would not at least try harder to save their dog.

My vote? Finders Keepers.

Count me among those who would never leave my pets behind under any circumstances. The man who rescued her has earned the right to keep her, imo.

All you need to know about this Anthony Ortolani oaf is publicly displayed on his Facebook page. What an idiot manchild. I'm sure he's bred dozens of idiot offspring who will grow up to be just like him.

Thank God for Facebook, and the same goes for tattoos: They broadcast to the world the douchebag-ness of so many people. I sure am glad that they've started using Facebook accounts in court against people. It's a wonderful thing.

The man who abandoned her left her for dead. In short, the dog was “dead” to him. The rescuer went to find her assuming she may be alive. The dog belongs to the rescuer (that’s my vote and I’m sticking by it).

I think we should let Missy decide - I’m sure she’d make the right decision :-)

I would not leave my dog to die even if I was going to die. I would pray for divine intervention. The guy who left her is abominable.

Okay, animal lovers. I just sent this story to my siblings and one of my sisters responded about how there is no question of custody, but she also wrote:
"An anti-Obama coward lured a stray cat with food and then impaled it and burned it alive."

I did an internet search and yes, there's a story out there about it and it is sickening. I guess it is being considered a threat directed at Obama.

The body of a burned cat and a message directed to President Barack Obama were found in Longfellow Park, city and federal officials said.

Minneapolis police, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and other agencies responded to the message a parks employee found Monday near the Longfellow Park and Recreation Center, a voting location used in Tuesday's primary election.

Dawn Sommers, spokeswoman for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, said the cat's body was found with a political message attached to it at the south end of the park.

I don't know what to say.

The article said the owner and his brother were with the dog. Why didn’t one of them stay with the dog to provide food, water and shelter for her while the other went for help? Eight days without food or water is animal cruelty! The folks who found her cared enough to go back and save her, they should be able to keep her.
