FRC has been around for decades, why in 2010 did the SPLC suddenly call them a hate group? i can't find the exact date in 201
The SPLC is nothing more than the Anti-White Ku Klux Klan. The SPLC themselves are a Hate Group.
See How To Recognize The Bigot In The Argument.

It’s time for the FBI to investigate those bass turds at the SPLC to find out what their intentions are. They are a very anti-American group.
Maybe the SPLC decided to come out of the closet in 2010...
I’m curious to know what the SPLC might be.........
I don’t even know what FRC stands for.
Oh, I just realized, it’s Family Research Council...My brain was trying to make it freerepublic something or other.
Unfortunately, the SPLC has been selling itself to governmental authorities as an authority on what is and isn't a 'hate group', allegedly in the defense of 'civil rights'.
Note, of course, that their mission has morphed along with the definition of what is a 'hate group' and there is a distinct leftist bias present.
Like other organizations and websites, they have established themselves as an authority on 'hate groups', and have broadened their definition to include an increasing spectrum of people who might previously been considered ordinary.
SPLC stands for Southern Poverty Law Center. They are a hate group targeting white people and Christians, specifically (& I believe, exclusively).
It is my opinion that the attempted mass assault at FRC was indisputably a hate crime. Who will bet me it doesn’t play out that way? (that’s a rhetorical question)
The way I saw it, SPLC didn’t declare FRC a hate group until 2010 because they didn’t have the confidence to do so before then. I believed the situation evolved with the Obama Administration and various advances of the gay rights movement. It seems the “hate group list” was a new tactic in terms of traditional and Christian groups and was also spurred by NOM (National Organization for Marriage).
Yes, the 2010 elections may have had something to do with the timing as well.
In any case, SPLC issued their Special Intelligence Report in the winter of 2010:
“18 Anti-Gay Groups and Their Propaganda”
Addendum:
I meant gay advocacy’s sparring with NOM’s Brian Brown spurred SPLC on to create the hate list; or it seemed to happen in tandem with it.
