Yours may have. Both my grandmas worked on their parent’s farms. My husband’s grandmas had a similar fate, too. The SOP was “Drop out of school in 8th grade so you can work and help in the fields. Then get married and get the hell out.”

Finishing school? Ha!

Actually, so did mine.

I'm not trying to make this about social class. Many (most?) don't send their daughters to soccer camp today either--due to money.

Point being is that we do not value traditionally feminine rolls today--and push our daughters to be a lot like men...

Feminism has had some good effects, but, a lot more bad...(see my posts above). Feminism is often very anti-feminine, and its the air we all breath.
