A middle school teacher in Shelbyville faces 13 counts following an investigation into sexual misconduct with minors.
Bethany Appleton, 28, Shelbyville, worked as a middle school teacher for Shelbyville Central Schools. According to police, the school district notified the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding possible misconduct by Appleton. Shelbyville police said the school district cooperated fully with the investigation.
According to police, the investigation uncovered several victims. Between April 2011 and May 2012, investigators said Appleton had sexual relations with one victim in her home and provided alcohol and marijuana to her victims. Police said Appleton often drank and smoked with them.

Well, pubic hair or not, these are still children, unless the teacher was going after some 6 foot 6, 250-pounders who flunked four times. Teachers who debauch children need to disappear for a very long time. I have a 12- year- old son, so I have some interest in what goes on in school. He is a good and innocent kid, and I want him to stay that way as long as possible.

Guilty. She’s a middle school teacher; her students are 12-13 years old. I always thought hot-to-trot teachers ought to wait at least until the kids have pubic hair before they seduce them. /s

Appleton was employed by Shelbyville Central Schools as a middle school teacher.
Police say there are several alleged victims. Their investigation found that Appleton had sexual relations with at least one victim, a 15-year-old boy, at her home.
If I were the police, I wouldn't tell a reporter that I often drank and smoked weed with a suspect.
This is like the THIRD Teacher-Student incident in this small school district, in a year.
That just screams MANAGEMENT PROBLEM...
