I'm so sorry, xrmusn. May she rest in peace.
Thanks for the ping Slings and Arrows, and to address xrmusn this is indeed a sad day for you. We know the heartbreak of having no alternative but to euthanize a loved pet such as “Cat”. It’s never possible to actually accept that is what must be done, but it always is.
We always talk between ourselves about the great times we had with the particular critter that we currently had no choice but to put down. It helps us to get through the moment, and onto the next day. We get our tears over with by remembering the joy they were. Works for us.
We’ve been married almost 35 years now, and have had more than 35 cats, and more than 35 dogs as well as horses, donkeys, ducks, and on, and on the list goes. We’ve seen a lot of these days. They’re never good. Only necessary for the comfort of our pets that are either critically ill, or terminal.
Prayers for you, and for Cat, and it would be a good idea to replace “Cat” with a new friend ASAP. Preferably a young’un that you can draw close to you as was “Cat”. The older they are the more difficult it is to draw them to you we have learned. Some do without a problem, but there’s less guarantee of that special bond with an older cat that you had with “Cat”.
