Ansel12, we come from different schools of thought. I’m not going to berate her for having sex at 17. She did it. It was unfortunate how it turned out. I am glad she is doing fairly good despite the mistake. Lots of kids do it. She’s no worse than anyone else. It shouldn’t be held against her.

Where we seem to differ, is that I am not a big fan of people who have done things that are wrong, going out on the talk circuit to ‘help’ others.

If some guy has been taking drugs for 15 years and in the last two years he has cleaned up his act, I’m happy for him. I’m not a big fan of chaining these types of people together so they can supposedly help each other. I know that seems to work fairly well in AA. When it gets to be sort of a celebrity status, I’m not a big fan.

Take care.

Maybe it is a Christian thing, Bristol’s story is a very mild version of something we see all the time, her having a high school sweetheart is so normal that it is surprising to meet someone who condemns her for life and thinks that she has disqualified herself from speaking about teen sex, and pro-life issues.

While Bristol’s sin was a single natural act at age 17, one of my favorite conservatives is Star Parker, the self-described welfare whore and worst, who now is a conservative Christian activist.
