Serena Williams caused a mini-controversy when she celebrated winning a gold medal in the women's singles at the London Olympics with a gangster dance.
The dance, which has been referred to as a "Crip Walk," was technically more likely a "Blood Walk." Regardless, she was flogged by many for her celebration.

I kinda like the celebratory dance. Hope she does it more often.
I once read a rant by the father and girls about how the white man ‘tried to hold the girls down and prevent them from advancing in tennis’.
Things never change.

A) I have zero interest in Williams or tennis. I would be glad to see anybody succeed and am delighted that she doesn't care one wit what a bunch of judgemental tight-ass midgets think.
B) Please explain how resentful ankle-biting is conservative or patriotic or Christian.
Old man Williams, believe it or not, plays the Race Card more often than Al Sharpton. When you see his spawn doing a booty dance, throwing gang signs and threatening officials, you see him.
Apples don't fall too far from the tree.
As a uncoordinated white male I wish I could dance like that.
This was posted by a fellow FReeper the other day on another thread re; African Americans:
“Dignified people, and especially world leaders and their wives, know how to keep their emotions from showing. Lower classes are always anxious to let everyone see how they are feeling. It comes from a sense of needing others to agree with them or to believe they are extremely happy, sad, discontented, angry, etc. with whatever is happening or being done or said at the moment.
Making faces or acting overly emotional (clapping too large and hard, laughing too loudly, frowning when displeased, etc.) is not something done by a person of class or an astute leader, business person, successful manager, etc. They learn to develop almost “poker faces” and to control excessive outward displays of emotion.
Michelle comes from a background where it is common practice that everyone is supposed to hear and see how you feel. Restraint, tact, and controlled behavior is not practiced, or even understood. She has been around the Queen of England and hundreds of other dignitaries. You think she would have observed this and learned a lesson. And if anyone dared bother to explain this to her, it is obvious she didn’t listen.
You just cannot make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.”
The sisters are not exactly my cup of tea. I’m not racist, they’re just neither classy enough to be role models or colorfully obnoxious enough for entertainment value (yes, Mac, I’m looking right at you). They’re just bleh. That said, I laughed when I read that headline. Neither Serena nor Venus has ever given a crap before in their careers. Why would either of them start now?

A) You mean hard work, dedication and talent?
B) Why mention Arthur Ashe, I mean out of all the great tennis playersof the past, why choose him?
Oh, wait...it's the black thing for you, isn't it? Your slip is showing.

. . . and for your information, I'm 5'10 . . . on a good day.
Sorry for including you in my reply to the small minded.
Cards on the table; every time the Williams Sisters gallop onto the court, the only color I see is RED!
No surprise.
Tennis, and sports in general, need more ambassadors like him.
Nice try but too late...you have outed yourself.
Don't make post Anna as a counter post!
Anna's no slut!
I thought Paula Abdul was an Arab?
