I did it. I'm ready for the flames.
I put a Romney bumper sticker on my car. But no cash from me until/if a decent VP is chosen.
I'm in upstate NY. I was ready for the comments as I had to travel all over today.
Eight people made comments, and one that made my gaydar go off gave me an "I don't think so girlfriend" look.
Of the eight that spoke, one screamed out "Obama!" which just made me laugh, and the remaining 7 said, to sum up "Yeah, Obamas got to go." One said it with a sigh as if he was greatly disappointed having voted for the President previously. Two of the seven that liked my sticker also told me I was brave and to be careful with that sticker on my car, which is sad in the USA.

No flames for a sad, sick, mittens hating crazy person, just prayers for your poor lost reason and thinking ability.
Why would we flame a demented, irrational, non-thinking person anymore than we would and autistic child, it's just not their fault.

That was a good argument back during the primaries.
And how is any different now? Did what you believe in change between now and then? Sounds like situational ethics. And to the best of my recollection, our team is greatly opposed to situational ethics.
People can come up with all the rationalizations they want. But voting for a liberal is still voting for a liberal. Conservatives can either vote for a person whose values and ideas they share, or not. If not, then what claim do they have on being conservative? Because voting for a liberal cannot in any way be defined as a conservative action.
Your logic is incorrect because you blindly use the term "liberal" to describe someone who is right of center. If you objectively look at the actual platform, policies, history, and governance of Romney, you will find that he is on the right hand side of the distribution of all of the people in the US. He may not be far enough right to satisfy the Romney-Mormon haters here, but he is far from "liberal". It is your promiscuous use of the term "liberal" that defies logic.
Because back during the primaries casting a vote for what you believe in had a plausible chance of getting that person elected. Now it doesn’t.
Your point about situational ethics is so abstract that it’s totally unpersuasive. At this point we’re faced with a pretty simple choice. Reasonable people will go the William F. Buckly route and cast their vote for the most conservative candidate who has a chance of getting elected. That’s Mitt Romney.

Your premise is faulty...Mittens isn’t a “ liberal” .... Granted he isn’t a Reagan conservative either....he was governor of one of the most liberal he’ll holes in the country....so one would expect him to govern left....
The more I watch and listen to Romney I more I like him... Which isn’t saying much since I pretty much did not like them at all....he was on the bottom of my list as the nominee

I ultimately will vote for Romney because my six grand children need to have a chance to grow in the america I grew up in....with Obama for four more years there is zero chance of that happening....with Romney at least they have a chance...
So I’m making a principle Decision for my namesake....

With four more years of Obama, this nation’s national security will be SEVERELY crippled.

Good for you MacMattico, for your Romney bumper sticker. Having lived in Michigan, California, and Washington,DC I have never ventured a presidential sticker on my car-I could be easily keyed or worse. We did have a Viet Nam vet sticker defaced and scratched through in downtown Asheville, NC. And I particularly love Asheville, NC.

It’s called incrementalism.
The left has been moving the goal posts further and further away from what we might call constitutional conservatism (let’s leave labels aside).
If we keep swinging for the fences, we’re never going to win. Let’s hit some singles, play some smart & tough defense, build a good farm system.

There are no pitches in football. And why anyone would hand the ball to "safety" mitt is beyond me. Not only does he hang around in his own endzone waiting to get tackled, but he would grab the ball from obama and run 90 yards the wrong way just to spite whatever Tea Party fans bought tickets to the game.

Are you REMOTELY serious? His record is to the left of Bill Clinton. On the big issues he’s high tax/mandate/pro homo/pro abortion and you seriously think he’s right of center?
That’s why having this debate with ABOers is so difficult. We are not speaking the same language. If you feel a man with his record is right of center, I don’t know what else to say.
Sorry but if you believe one thing yesterday and another today based on ‘the situation (in this case an arbitrary event), that’s situational ethics and completely relevant.
Conservative beliefs do not change because one person or another is nominated for president. They exist in places that HAVE no president or American system of government ruling them. So whether or not candidate X or W wins has no determinative value on anything.
You either believe something or you do not. And being gung ho conservative one day and voting lib the next over some outside influence/fear defines situational ethics.
