Cruz vs. Dewhurst
Texas election | 7/2912

Posted on 07/29/2012 7:57:33 AM PDT by DallasBiff

Initially I was a Cruz supporter, but as the campaign rolled on and I found out that Cruz is a trial lawyer, I was skeptical, but I still supported Cruz, because he said the right things.

Still, though, saying the right things cannot hide your initial background, a trial lawyer=community activist.

As in all elections, the choice is the lesser of two evils, and a businessman is a lesser evil than a trial lawyer.

You are obviously a noob to FR

Well he has about 4 months on your noob status assuming 2008 makes one a noob. Not defending DB but I don’t think he is a noob.

Sorry you feel that way. I'm going to be working to get him fired as Lt. Gov, after he loses this election.

12:1 on this thread of posters saying they will vote for Cruz vs. Dewhurst.

So you think you are the only informed voter here? LOL! You are the only un-informed voter here...and now have started name-calling.

You represent Dewhurst well.

So did the island of Manhattan which voted for McGovern in 72, and a famous paraphrased quote from a now forgotten Manhattan socialite, "All my friends voted for McGovern, how did he lose"

I think the debates and this ad campaign have shown Texans the real Dewhurst. I think he is history, even in Texas state politics. He was just plain embarrassing to watch in the debates. And if you were inclined to feel sorry for him for his pathitic debate preformance, listening to one of his despicable negative attack ads erased any sympathy for him.

Another one from 2008.

Not sure what you're about, but something about you and your posts smells funny.

Are you from around here? You seem different.

Blind squirrel, nut scenario. I think Mark Davis would best be described as an ex-conservative talk show host; I stopped listening to himlong before he lost his gig at WBAP... if he has another show (other than occasionally subbing for Rush) I haven’t heard about it, not that it would matter if he did.

We will find out Tuesday night, but just remember that the "establishment" includes trial lawyers, such as Ted Cruz.

No, the establishment is the gaggle of country-club, good-old boy, go-along-to-get-along, GOP leadership.

I expect they are going to go the way of the passenger dodo.

Cruz was a clerk for the late great USSC CJ William Rhenquist. One of the I greatest justices ever.

So I guess that you defend a guy, Cruz, who defended a person, who put juveniles in jail so that the corrupt Pennsylvania judges could get their bribes, is a ok.

Even mark davis(Cruz Supporter) made fun of the "grieving" mother. Cults are Cults.

I think he is gone. But what makes me nervous is what happened in Arizona. Everybody knew what McCain was like, especially Arizonan’s. And look what we got, 6 more years of McCain. I can attribute that maybe to JD Hayworth and Palin making a poor endorsement and we don’t have that in this election, but I worry that somehow Dewhurst is so entrenched he can’t be gotten rid of. Can’t wait for tuesday night.

OK so let’s lock all of the trial lawyers up and throw away the key. People have no right to defense, right? That will leave us with nothing but prosecutors. Happy now?

“Cruz…did not represent Mericle in any criminal matter. He represented the developer in an appeal of his lawsuit against Travelers Insurance Co., which refused to pay out any money to help settle scores of civil claims arising from the scandal.” (Texas Tribune, 07/12/12)

Try to get some facts, biff.

“After Dewhurst loses the senate race, we need to work to get him out of Austin.”

From your lips to God’s ears. IMO, his lying campaign has damaged him greatly and shown him for what he really is. No way I would EVER give him another vote, not even for dog catcher. Someone like that does not deserve to represent us in any capacity.

Entrenchment would be in favor of Dewhurst. On the other side is the Tea Party anti establishment types that may well be enthused enough to defeat Dewhurst. The runoff is showing lower turnout as to be expected. So it comes down to who can get their voters to the polls.
