The best part, which I think wasn't intended, was when they praised the NHS and then showed the little kids in their hospital beds and all the evil characters of British literature showed up! Says a lot about NHS! Mary Poppins had to save them-- a fantasy!
Worst I can recall seeing!
I agree. This is stupid.
The Chinese did great. I could not believe how bad this was. I hope the games are better.
Who would have thought the British would celebrate Communism even more than the ChiComs?
I turned it on hoping to enjoy it and had to switch the channel. Too long and too boring.
You didn’t miss much!
Don’t forget to hit the tip jar for the vanity. :)
I got some time before it’s on here, so I’ll set the DVR and watch it when I’m about to go to sleep. If it’s as bad as I think, I should have a new program to fall asleep to any time I want.
The same NHS where if you are sick and in the hospital they ignore patients requests for water and they die!
tons of kids jumping on institutional beds. No parents.
Cruella De Ville, Voldemort, Captain Hook, and those black hooded thingies chase the kiddies around.
Mary Poppins scares the NHS monsters away.
A big giant baby flutters.
hoooo boy.
Have we dipped the U.S. Flag to anyone yet??
No Cable (best decision on the year) and wouldn’t be watching it anyways.
I’m trying to think of a word to describe this whole “Bedlam” opening fiasco....
..Something between “bizarre” and “stupid”... perhaps with a dash of “macabre” and a pinch of “grotesque”.
...Any suggestions out there?
Can you imagine what it would have looked like if Obungo had secured the Olympics for Chicago?
Does anyone even want to try?
I agree—the whole thing was a celebration of socialism.
A tribute to their socialized healthcare system and an homage to 0bamacare WTF!
And to the theme song of “The Exorcist”?
This was some of the weirdest sh*t I’ve ever seen.
I really did want to see a pageant of British History like the Greeks and Chinese did. It goes back 2000 years!
Virtually nothing from Stonehenge to 1820.
Some of the pop culture stuff was fun, but it was almost the whole thing.
In my time zone it will start in about half an hour, I think I’ll stop the recording and watch a movie instead.
Maybe I can find a DVD copy of the Australian Olympics, best one ever.
Sadly, probably the worse opening ceremonies ever. The Communist Chinese must be proud of this British production.
The tribute to technology with June and Kenny..or whomever they were..was simply awful.
