Same thing happened in Luby's cafe in Texas. The only person with a handgun left it in her car because the sign told her to. Her parents were killed. This Aurora incident is not a case of needing more gun control, it is a case of needing less. One person with a CCW could have stopped this tragedy in Aurora. There is no real argument here. It's an obvious fact. Theater goers were disarmed by liberal gun control policies and now 12 people are dead. Thank God his gun jammed or it would have been much worse. Next time maybe folks won't be so lucky.

Two thumbs down for Roger Ebert.

Boycott Cinemark theaters until or unless they change their gun prohibition policy.

If this theater had just posted a big enough sign, maybe Holmes would have seen it and none of this would have happened.

Right - those “Free Zones” sure do stop them, don’t they? More signs, that’s what Liberal see as a means to stop criminals.

I'll just mark Ebert down as one of those in favor of politicizing human tragedy
Class-less POS.

I see that I’ll have to carry my guns going to the theatre to see this cinematic “masterpiece”. What kind of arsenal would you suggest I take with me?

In case you're curious, here's how it works in Colorado:
if a concealed carrier chooses to ignore a firearms prohibition sign, and
if he's asked to leave, and
if he refuses, and
if the owner or manager calls the police, he can be issued a citation for trespassing. Such a citation usually merits a $25 fine for a first offense. Anti-Second Amendment bigotry signs don't carry the force of law in Colorado.
That said, I'd be very surprised to learn very many concealed carriers ignore those signs: we're not only law-abiding, but uncommonly polite. I have to admit I've never seen one one of those nasty signs, living as I do near Colorado Springs. Denver and Boulder want to be, respectively, the San Francisco and Berkeley of the Rocky Mountains; the rest of Colorado remains solidly American. I've been told local movie theaters put up criminal appeasement signs, but haven't gone to the movies in at least fifteen years: too much mindless violence masquerading as "entertainment" and one-gag movies trying to pass themselves off as "comedy."
