Actually Himmler promoted Hoess to Obersturmbahnfuhrer (Lt. Colonel). Not to be picky. I eagerly await your daily 70 year old NY Times posting.

We normally rely on PzLdr to keep us on the straight and narrow regarding SS rank and insignia. Its good to see we have multiple sources for that discipline.
