Did Somebody loan Ms Romney a pair of testicles ?

We’ll see how they fit after a couple more speeches.

Hope it was better than when Mitch McConnell “slams” somebody. Because that’s usually a “tersely worded letter” or a droning, squirrely speech on the senate floor.

The spew about who built the roads and bridges is wrong. “Early toll roads were constructed between some commercial centers and were owned by joint-stock companies that sold stock to raise construction capital, like Pennsylvania’s 1795 Lancaster Turnpike Company.” (source Wikipedia)

We have a stock certificate here for the Grand Army of the Republic Highway - - aka route 6, the longest highway in the USA. http://www.route6tour.com/maps.htm

Many canals were built by private enterprise. The D&H Canal included a privately owned bridge over the Delaware River. The bridges were large enough to carry the canal boats.

There is still a privately owned toll bridge over the Delaware River at Dingman’s Ferry, PA.

And while DARPA did create the first inklings of the internet, the government sure didn’t pay for the build out. All of us users paid as did telecom companies like Verizon or other cable providers.

There have been useful government programs such as the post office and the rural electrification program that did help private business. But all along businesses have paid taxes.
