In a truly awful 1978 science fiction movie titled Starcrash, which started Marjoe Goertner, Caroline Munro and Christopher Plummer, (Hasselhoff was in the cast), the software of the time was used to create a spaceship (the crasher into another spaceship), that looked like a flying motherboard rather than a space ship.

The classic movie Dark Star had absolutely fantastic special effects that must have cost all of $2 and change and were totally believable, provided one willing, totally suspended his disbelief. A Must see!

Attack of the Eye Creatures. I can forgive an occasional visible zipper, but when they just put a head on one of the extras wearing a black shirt and pants to try to blend into the background you know that "they just don't care" as MST3K put it.

And speaking of MST3K, they had some real stinkers from Japan which made Godzilla look like a Kurasawa film. I'm thinking of ones like Prince of Space and Invasion of the Neptune Men. Why bother filming two explosions when you can show the same one twice.
