Mitt Romney's Time to Choose
American Thinker ^ | July 9, 2012 | Steve McCann

Posted on 07/09/2012 8:46:53 AM PDT by old school

"...the presumptive Republican nominee for president, Mitt Romney, appears incapable of putting or unwilling to put on the mantle of confidence-inspiring leadership. He does not convey a genuine sense of understanding of the people's angst and is unwilling to display an immutable set of core convictions. The campaign, thus far, seems to be relying on the assumption that the election in November will be solely a referendum on Barack Obama, as enough people will be so intent on change of any sort that they will vote for Romney as the only alternative."

Hello? Mitt? Where are you?

It is disturbingly quiet out there — especially when Obama continues to steal and destroy America and give it away to the United Nations.

OK, Mitt, now is the time to RAISE HELL and take your message to the people. Hello Mitt ???

This thread is unfair to Mr. Romney.

What the heck is he supposed to do?

He CREATED death panels and socialized medicine in the
USA and RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE.

So this is unfair.
What can he do, but hide?

Hide while he is in defensive mode endlessly.

Hide while FAST and Furious came and went.

Hide while Americans HATE ObamaCARE.

Hide ..or run away to a few other countries.

From the article: In fact, it seems that the Romney team cannot even co-ordinate a plausible response to any of these issues, much less campaign on them.

Amen to that! Romney appears frightened of stepping on the Obama team's toes while his ads are pretty good. He needs to get his ad people to handle his entire campaign and fire the ones who tie his tongue and keep him from becoming a candidate the people might support (instead of being the "alternative candidate"). The RINO part of him has good potential to make him McCain II.

Is Mitt Romney running for president solely as a fulfillment of a personal or family ambition?

Yes. Bishop Romney believes that he is entitled, from birth. And apparently the GOPe thinks he is entitled, too.

As the article says, we "desperately" need someone to lead us out of this mess. Romney is about the worst pick possible to do that.

And, no, that doesn't mean that I support Obama, just because I refuse to pretend that Romney is someone he is not. This wan't my idea, to have a ticket with Obama 1 and Obama 2 on it next November. It was Karl Rove and all his corrupt pundit friends.

He does not convey a genuine sense of understanding of the people's angst and is unwilling to display an immutable set of core convictions.

It is too obvious to state after running for POTUS for the past what 8 years he does not have any core convictions. He is a soulless technocrat. He did have a horrible car accident while on Mormon mission in France but he never spent a day in his life worrying about what 95% of the American population worry about on a daily basis.

Is Mitt Romney running for president solely as a fulfillment of a personal or family ambition?

To me it is obvious he is running for the title of first Mormon president and to accomplish what his father failed to do and while doing it embarrassed himself.

The author asks the question,”Is Mitt Romney running for president solely as a fulfillment of a personal or family ambition?”

I’ve wondered that not just of Romney but of previous candidates. The exception being Ronald Reagan.

Your comment operates under the erroneous assumption that Romney is not, himself, part of the problem.

I agree.

And do the pro Romneys understand that in effect, we, Laura Ingraham, Bill Kristol, Rush, Levin and others are actually doing the campaign a favor by pointing out these blatant deficiencies in the way they are operating?

Let’s say just Mittens wasn’t the problem(which of course, he is..but for sake of argument), it can’t hurt for the campaign, Reince and the GOP-E who have their collective butts up their stupid arses...to hear this and get a collective grip on their arrogant out of touch selves.

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, A core principled Conservative would have eaten Bam for lunch by now.

As I posted on another thread, heard a radio talk host late last evening (his name is Cunningham; don't remember the first), who said that there is "no excitement for Romney in Ohio." I wasn't surprised by the comment, and couldn't help but feel it's like that across the country. Although he appears to be bringing in a lot of campaign cash, IMHO, there truly is nothing exciting about Romney.

::::::::::::::

Not necessarily. I make no assumptions and only address what should be happening, IMHO. Or more exactly, what I would be doing if I were running — but I am not. Sotero is burning money at a very rapid rate and it is hard to measure just how much revenue Soros and the international anti-American community will keep pushing his way. Regardless of some opinions of Romney, I would not underestimate him and his ability to surround himself with good advice — only time will tell and the last 60 days of the run are where traditionally most of the cards hit the table. :-) Pray for America.
