Personal matter? Cruise and the Scientologists literally sat down and leafed through magazines to pick out a mate.

Impersonal, cynical, sick and nothing to do with love.

It is also not a messianic religion. This means there is no worship of prophets or messiahs or gods.

This is incorrect. Scientology is VERY MUCH a messianic religion. L Ron Hubbard was the prophet, messiah and god of Scientology.

Prophet, because Hubbard discovered that there was a way to achieve perfection. Messiah, because he delivered to his followers the means by which they could achieve salvation, and become as gods. God, because he went beyond being human, and was totally infallible.

It was a basic article of faith in Scientology that, if Hubbard said it, then it was True. If you thought differently from Hubbard (on ANY subject), then you were automatically wrong and in need of correction.

In later years, David Miscavige has sought to impart to himself this same aura of infallibility.

I’m told they even have a Church document on how to wash windows.

That's the first thing I've read that makes sense. After all, if they're dumb enough to get involved with this...

one person claims there are issues with Suri that Katie wanted to address. Perhaps she saw the warning signs of what was to come after Jett travolta. I remember reading one story of a Scientologist who needed meds and his father wouldn’t let him have them .

I don't doubt it. I believe that it was the plan of Cruise and Scientology to progressively alienate and isolate Suri from her mother, and progressively turn Suri into a loyal Scientologist.

For a true horror story of death by medical neglect, read the case of Lisa McPherson:

On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson was dead on arrival at a hospital 45 minutes north of Clearwater Florida. According to the coroner's report, Lisa was underweight, severely dehydrated, and had bruises and bug bites. Scientologists chose to pass three hospitals en route to New Port Richey Hospital, where Scientologist Dr. David Minkoff was on duty. They could have gone to Morton Plant Hospital, only six minutes away.

Lisa's last address was listed by the police as 210 S. Ft. Harrison in Clearwater Florida, which is the Fort Harrison Hotel, a Scientology property. Lisa had been a Scientologist from the age of 18 to her death at age 36.

In Scientology a truth is only true if it’s true for you, according to your own observation and experience .

George Costanza: Jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it.

Son of Anne Archer (actress) and William Davis (real estate mogul) surfaces:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/church-scientology-statement-abc-news/story?id=16723195

Statement Issued to ABC News by Gary S. Soter, counsel for Church of Scientology International.

I received the following statement from Mr. Tommy Davis following publication of false statements which appeared in the Hollywood Reporter: The Hollywood Reporter did not check the facts with the Church or with Mr. Davis before publishing the false statements:

“Marty Rathbun never witnessed conversations between me and Isabella and Connor Cruise about their mother because no such conversations ever occurred. I have never spoken with Isabella or Connor about their mother and never would as it is none of my business. – Tommy Davis”

Tom is going to have to agree or the dirt is going to come out.

Katie almost certainly has all the dirt she needs to bring down both Tom and Scientology. The "close" relationship between Tom Cruise and Scientology head David Miscavige is the stuff of talk among Scientologists and ex-Scientologists. For example, from the deposition of Andre Tabayoyon who was in charge of security for Scientology headquarters:

During the 1980's, Miscavige befriended the actor Tom Cruise and they spend a lot of time together on the Hemet base. Their special chef, Sinar Parman, would prepare them fancy meals. Often they would hang out alone in the space designated for L. Ron Hubbard on the Clipper Ship we built in the desert. This space had a small kitchen, a little dining room, a little bar and a bed.

“If Katie wants a normal relationship with her daughter she has to keep Tom away.”

reading the commenta on that story = NO KIDDING
This is like “Rosemary’s Baby” - being lived out in the public eye

Speaking of which- who will prove a paternal match for the child’s DNA (given rumors of Cruise’s infertility), how involved was Katie - personally and contractually - in the process of creating that child, and how will this affect custody?

That poor child, that poor woman, even if she did make some bad decisions 6 years ago

Is there ANY history of such a rabid scientiologist sharing custody with a Catholic who baptizes her child and educates her in the Church? Nicole Kidman’s loss of all meaningful contact with her oldest children comes to mind

Ummmm .... Unclear on the concept?

They were claiming to the locals that the installation was a film studio. So they needed something that would give it the flavor of a film stage. Internally, it was used as a private residence for Hubbard, and then for Miscavige. Presumably he would share the one bed there with Cruise when he visited.

Kind of makes me wonder if Joseph Smith wasn’t the original Scientologist since much of his revelation came while speaking into a hat.

I wonder if that gave rise to the expression, “You are talking through your hat.”

Oh well, hatters gonna hat.
