And a French military hospital would not have found high level of radioactive poisoning in Arafat’s body while he’s dying, but have to wait years later for a Swiss Institute to test his personal belongings for trace amount of polonium?

Vladimir Putin has been known to use Polonium 210 as an assassination tool. If Arafat had become a liability, this might have been a way to get a more competent leader, as well as letting other client states no the price for failure.

It also has a half life of 138.4 days, after eight years there would be nothing left to detect ( 4.41 x 10-7 of the original amount, that's 0.000000441 or 4.41/10,000,000), if it was ever there in the first place. Occam's razor suggests AIDS as the cause of death.
