Is anyone else having a very hard time with the 4th of July this year? Celebrating our independence seems almost a farce to me right now.
The Supreme Court has ruled that there's something constitutional in taxing us for not making a purchase. The attorney general and president aid and abet organized drug gangs. People who criminally cross our border are not only welcomed but treated as victims, and assisted by our OUR government in flauting the law. Americans by birthright or legal means are relegated to cogs in the wheel, forced to hand over more and more and more. Perverse sexual acts are elevated, celebrated, paraded and called marriage. Complain or disagree with any of this, you're harrassed, threatened, maligned, sued.
So how do I listen to some narrator on television, telling of the courage of those who founded and built this nation, implying that their legacy is being carried on today? How do I hear the words constitutional rights, and not choke a little on what seems like the utter and complete worthlessness that is really, in practice, behind the phrase? Do I dress my daughters in red, white and blue, and fly the flag, and go to see the fireworks display and pretend it all means what it's supposed to mean knowing that, in reality the answer is
no.... It's all window dressing. I know all this has been a long time coming I know things haven't ever been perfect. But this year I feel like Obama and his sycophants have hijacked this great holiday. This year it all seems like a big phoney lie.
For the first time in memory, I’m not celebrating “Independence” Day. No fireworks, nothing. Just another day to me.
I agree with you. I have felt this way for years, but now it’s unbearable. In my mind July 4 is a day of national mourning.
I can’t bear to watch the fireworks.
DITTO!!! When are they coming for our powder kegs?
Exactly. Why go through the motions when the reason for celebrating has ceased to exist?
Kind of.....I don’t see why we should celebrate the destruction of this country.....To me it’s “Dependence Day” from now on.....):

The reason for celebrating still exists for those that appreciate this country. Don’t give up.
The 4th of July has become too dangerous, and should be banned. Instead, take the family to a gay parade or earth festival.
To paraphrase Michelle,
“For the first time in my life, I’m not proud of my country.”
Yeah, I gave it up a long time ago. Tomorrow . . ., I plan on coming to work.
On the bright side, the looters call it a ‘Republican Holiday’, and would like to get rid of it. But it makes me ‘vurp’ (vomit-burp) a little too.
I usually fly the flag the entire first week of July. This year, not yet.
Tomorrow, a shrinking number of Italians will cook hot dogs and sausages for a growing line of non-citizens (23.4% of the population) who haven’t said Thank You for the free stuff in the 20 years I’ve participated in our Ward celebration. It’s supposed to rain.
Ditto.
I’m renewing my pledge. The significance is more important to me than ever.
I walk a Revolutionary War battlefield near my home every day with my dog. There are 53 soldiers buried there. I have blessed them, thanked them and apologized to them over the years. But I will pledge to them that I will keep on trying..or join them.
Mine’s flying upside down. :(
Yep, roll over and play dead or stick your head in the sand and act like nothing is happening. Doing these actions is exactly what Obama wants and I for one am going to celebrate the birth of this great nation. Please remember how England had to fight for it’s very life during WWII but by not giving up and the United States stepped in and helped out in that War. This war can be won but we must first quit feeling sorry for ourselves! DO SOMETHING, NOT NOTHING!
Obummer says it should be like Sept 11th. Just a day of service to him. No fireworks but you should read your Koran.
It has become a sackcloth and ashes kind of day. :-(
Amos 8
9. And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
10. And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day:
I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking this. Perhaps it should be boycotted until we have once again done what our founding fathers did to celebrate it the 1st time.......which incidentally did not involve doing anything at a ballot box.
