In rural Alaska we lived near Tern Lake, (name says it all) in the nesting season we came to hate the damn things. They would sometimes attack the kids playing out in the yard.

Had a big Airedale and he did not suffer their screeching and pecking gladly. By leaping up in the air when they got too close, he would occasionally get one, he enjoyed crunching them in his jaws.
