Pop star Carrie Underwood should take her own advice, which she provided in one of her top hits, and let Jesus Take the Wheel.
In an interview with the London Independent, Underwood, an American Idol winner who professes to be a follower of Jesus, expressed her passionate support for same-sex marriage.
Heres some of what she had to say about that:
I dont know what its like to be told I cant marry somebody I love, and want to marry. I cant imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.
She said she attends a gay friendly church and doesnt believe she has the right to judge anyone. Above all, God wanted us to love others. Its not about setting rules, or [saying] everyone has to be like me. No. Were all different. Thats what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. Its not up to me to judge anybody.
Now, I dont mean to pick on a young celebrity who has obviously devoted most of her life to music and may have missed out on some key Bible studies.
In fact, what Underwood has to say here is actually indicative of a growing biblical illiteracy within what passes for the Body of Christ in America today even among the clergy.
Heres the bottom line: You cant be a follower of Jesus and condone what He Himself describes as sin.
Neither can you truly love others by purposely not confronting their sin and allowing them to be comfortable with their sin.
Thats not love.

Everybody needs love, but love isn’t just a big shapeless hunk of emotional cotton candy.
Corporations are the enforcers.
She could have withheld comment, but I get the idea from the WND article that she really was copacetic with the idea. This wasn’t some insincerity she mouthed in order to keep her promoter happy.
What a shame, one of the more devout sentiments seen in today’s non-CCM country music being voiced by what is, at best, a mere babe in the Lord and a lousy witness. I wonder how the songwriter feels. It would be like writing a Christian hymn, having it become famous, then discovering the artist by which it did was a Mormon or a Buddhist.
Back in the 1990’s banks were sending staff to seminars where we were told gay was normal. They also made everyone tell what culture we came from - except American wasn’t allowed because America has no culture of its own!
I don’t like Hannity but he had a good response a year ago to a homosexual when he said “what if a father LOVED his daughter, or a SON loved his mother?”
Does that excuse give both of them the “right’ to marry?
The fudgepacker basically clammed up.
The days when it’s okay to just withhold comment are coming to an end.
“Back in the 1990s banks were sending staff to seminars where we were told gay was normal.”

That’s what happened to me and my business partners in Hollywood. We were once employees of this (expletive) liberal and we just bolted. It was already bad enough we had to put up acting like we were one of the brain-dead liberals when we were not. When we left, it took a lot of discipline in me not to strangle this POS with my bare hands..
There are other ways to put it, like “Maybe they call me narrow, but I’m only as narrow as the bible (or Jesus Christ).”
All the bankers just kept their mouths shut - afraid of losing their jobs. Me, too.
John 8:7
Hollywood’s favorite bible verse.
How about the sexual harassment’ seminar? The person who was the host of this mandatory shindig for the employees was also gay and blamed men for every sin on earth for 2 hours.
His assistant was a buzz cut lesbian which made the event unbearable..
It would need wild horses for me not to tell them something like “Fine. Now women have a chance to be just as terrible.”
We had a Buddhist lady who used to be a first grade teacher, LOL.
God’s simple design of the human body tells us all we need to know about his feelings on Homosexuals.
Part A plugs into Part B.
The first/ great commandment as Jesus of Nazareth taught the
scribe is “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all your heart,,soul and mind.”(Mathew 22:37-38.) IMO one cannot honestly claim to Love the Lord thy God and at the same time
distort or misrepresent what HE taught. Moses(Genesis 1:27,and 2: 20-24 ) Jesus (Matthew 19:5) and the Apostle Paul ( 1 Corinthians 6:15—7:16) cannot be reconciled to the pop stars’
strange doctrine.
She probably understands that you do not have much of a career in the entertainment industry if you piss off the Velvet Mafia.
Carrie Underwood is a country cross-over tart. Liked her in the beginning. Now she’s just another diva in love with herself. She’s actually more pop than country anyway.
Throughout both the Old and New Testaments, God told his people over and over again, “Be holy, as I am holy.” Of course there are many things people do that are not holy, but it is impossible to look at sodomy and imagine there is anything holy about it.
.
That’s how people convince themselves it’s OK—by just not thinking about it. Any normal person who REALLY let’s themselves imagine it for any amount of time will be sickened by the obvious perversity of it.
Same goes for abortion, I might add.
Kinda contradicts John 14:6
“Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Don’t see how a “church” can do this..
