This little beauty, along with a nice bag of goodies, came as a gift.

I'm going to start learning to sleep standing in a corner, I'm running out of space for a bed.

Canon AE-1 Program, 1981

CANON AE1

Analog’s good and versatile. Thinking about getting a battery for my old Nikon.

Yeah, but I sure don’t have room for any trains in here!

Oh man! I had that same setup many years ago. What an awesome camera the AE1 Program is!! Still a solid performer 40 years after it was introduced.

PS: I have not been able to find the Minolta flash I promised you. Have no idea what happened to it. Sorry.

That's an excellent camera! Does it use that quaint medium we know as film or is it digital? I have an array of old cameras, a couple from the 30's, a Pentax Spotmatic, my first SLR and an array of other devices. Now I tend to use my phone to take pictures more than anything else. It's better than any of the cameras I own.

My brother had one just like it. It was the first real camera he bought. He loved Canons.
He has some Hasselblads{spelling, damn}. But that AE1 is the most cherished thing he got.

Speaking of ‘analog’, If I get you another old Cannon AE, will you get me an old Fairchild 670 Compressor (Audio)? Heck of a deal! ;)

It's 35mm. I shoot a lot of digital but I really love the old SLRs. I started out to collect Minolta stuff, then a Pentax sneaked in, and since then it's out of control.

I try to keep everything working but still end up with some junkers.

This Canon is pristine, needed a tiny drop of lube but nothing else.

I used a T-1 in high school for yearbook pictures and envied the upperclassmen who were assigned the AE-1 in the school’s inventory. :) I have an F-1 around here somewhere.

Wow! Can you get the 100 exposure backlid? My photo club had one, and that extended roll was great on Prom night....

really

what about developing it? who does the developing? I heard there’s no more kodak film and no one left around to do the developing and the EPA won’t let you sell chemicals anymore.

I had a yashica with a built in light meter. No auto. tons of lenses. All screw in type...not bayonette. I had all the developing equipment. My dad even made his own emulsion. He had a one gallon jug of pure mercury...still half full.

My wife is an avid Photographer. I have bought her three state of the art cameras, one top of the line Pentax DSLR, a Canon point-and-shoot and a Nikon DSLR with auto zoom.

Despite the heavy artillery, she still takes the old Pentax SLR film camera on vacation, and invariably shoots 8 - 10 rolls in a week to ten days. (That’s in addition to all the shots with the new stuff.)

She gets some really great shots with the old film camera.
