The Sea Shepherds' scout vessel, the Brigitte Bardot, is slammed by a 30-foot wave, and water is entering the vessel through a crack in the pontoon. The terrified crew issues a distress call to the rest of the Sea Shepherd fleet, but help is more than 20 hours away. Fighting swells and brutal cold, the crew hopes to hold the outrigger in place with rope and straps. If the damaged piece is ripped from its slender mount, the crew fears the vulnerable craft may be torn to pieces.
That “Tri” is a death trap! She’s already had one of her pontoons crack. The Southern Ocean is no place for a boat like that! I hope they can get to her and get the people off before she breaks up......and she WILL BREAK UP!
And as far as the main issue of the thread: We know they survived...we have the footage of the leak and various helecopter scenes from last week. If they had sunk and drown...they would have disappeared without a trace.
That being said...Watson has to be the worst "admiral" ever. He made a STUPID decision to stear that little ship into a monster storm when he could have easily taken a few hours to stop and refuel them. They were only 60 miles away...their cover was blown and there was NO WAY the jap navy would have tried anything with them. He's an idiot and this is on him.
Any Captain who can will always help. It is an unspoken oath we take upon becoming a Captain.
Maybe the film boat that accompanies them could help?
Perhaps Discovery Channel headquarters can send a rescue request to Fox News Channel. Fox can parachute Juan Williams & Bob Beckel in to save them.
Clearly you are unfamiliar with Brigitte Bardot....
Those puppies are unsinkable!
“crack in the pontoon.”????????
An Indy 500 car is not the best vehicle to do an East Africa Safari Rally. Who Knew?
If they send Beckel, he’d better watch out for harpoons.
Here’s to rough seas. May justice be served.
LOL—Very good point that I didn’t think of—Beckel COULD be mistaken for a whale if he was seen swimming in the ocean.
That oath okay I hear that from long long time ago on Deadliest Catch season 1 long time ago OKAY
That oath okay I hear that from long long time ago on Deadliest Catch season 1 long time ago OKAY
Those eco-nuts motto:
“Save the whales, not the males!”
>> Those puppies are unsinkable!
heh... no, I’m very familiar with B.B. (and her age). And at her age, “those puppies” will sink all the way to her bottom...er, I mean all the way to THE bottom. :-)
If they actually used boats that were suited to the conditions they operate in, maybe they would stop damaging and sinking them. I guess that doesn’t fit into the feel good hippie logic.
It looks like the pontoon breaks off next week and they abandon ship and to make things more interesting the Irwin or Barker looses an engine.
