A man hitchhiking across the country and writing a memoir called "The Kindness of America" was injured in a random drive-by shooting along a rural highway near northeastern Montana's booming Bakken oil patch, authorities said Monday.
Ray Dolin, 39, of West Virginia, was shot in the arm as he approached a pickup Saturday evening thinking the driver was offering him a ride, said Valley County Sheriff Glen Meier.

We’d be much “kinder” if it wasn’t for our guns.

He’ll be renaming his book “Justice for Trayvon” if he knows what’s good for him.
Message delivered, cracker.

I feel terrible about it but I did burst out laughing, since it’s not even possible to make stuff up as ironic as that. Hope I didn’t earn a longer stint in purgatory for that...

Did you see the article linked from the site about the Ukrainian girl who was raped and burned? Very tragic.
To: Free ThinkerNY
Wow, this article is a classic! They manage to demonize gun rights AND Big Oil in one story!

A 52-year-old Washington man, Lloyd Christopher Danielson III, was arrested about four hours later near Culbertson. Authorities say he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and apparently headed to Williston, N.D., for work tied to the oil boom.WTF? He's on his way to get a job and just thought he'd shoot some guy on the road to break the boredom of driving? Give him a short trial and take him out and shoot him.

I bet the gun was obtained via the “gun show loophole” , the bullets were “copkillers” and the gun was a evil “semiautomatic”.

I read the article and can’t find anything that sounds like it was demonised. What parts are you talking about?

This reminds me of the “Human Kindness Day” celebration held in D.C. in 1974. I was downtown that day working a part-time job to get through school, and I remember seeing gangs of black youths chasing terrified white people down the street. By the end of the day, numerous people had very unkind things done to them, and one poor fellow was chased, caught, robbed, beaten, and had his eye stabbed out.

So did I. It’s just the irony. You can’t make some of this stuff up.

A man hitchhiking across the country and writing a memoir called “The Kindness of America”
why?
did he not find “the kindness of America” closer to home, he had to go looking for it?
