Lived in Cal while in the navy in 71-73. In NH now. Miracle whip has its uses. It is basically mayo with vinegar and sugar, which is the basis for deviled eggs (plus mustard and paprika).

Tuna goes well with a little sweet and sour. BLT does not.

I left as you were arriving, maybe little before. A little relish in with the Tuna/MW and it brings back so many memories. Back east, people would rather take out the trash than sit and enjoy! It's a great sandwich that I always associate to CA and my friend's families back then. I was kidding when I asked if you grew up there... maybe we were introduced at the same time? Tuna/MW/relisd...
