We are about 30 miles WNW (as the crow flies) of Fort Lewis, Washington and once or twice a week the sound of artillery practice rolls across our property. It truly is the sound of FReedom. Hoo-rah.

I grew up in NH when Mel Thompson was Gov.. Man, he didn't take any BS or give any.
We should have had a "Checkpoint Charlie" set-up on routes 3 and 95 to keep out the undesirables. When the south [Massachusetts] invaded, it was the beginning of the end.
