I spent a summer in northern Michigan living in an old trailer with no water or electricity while earning enough to get started on rent for a house.
I used to tell my girlfriend “Someday I’ll earn enough money to take you to McDonalds and we’ll even go inside and have a regular sit down meal.”

Went to your website. Very interesting life, times,and stories and I enjoyed reading through it. My father was a Marine Gunnery Sgt., mountain man, gold miner, hunter, and helped start the Lower Sierra Eating Drinking and Farcing Society. They did it just to piss off the Sierra Club. You would have fit right in with his deer hunting, gold mining, camping and rendezvous group.
