There are a few things that you should not announce online. Dont tell them when you are going on vacation and leaving your house unattended and just like in any city, dont go flashing a wad of cash around. A home in Australia was robbed last week by two masked men, a few hours after an image of cash appeared on Facebook. posted by a 17-year-old girl who was helping count her grandmothers savings. The police are trying to find the thieves. Do NOT show off cash on Facebook. This could have ended with someone dead. Source
The robbers quickly figured out where the house was located and traveled there to steal the money. The image was posted at 4pm on Thursday, May 24. By 11:30pm the two masked men arrived with a knife and wooden club. They forced their way into the house, but the girl was no longer there. A 58-year-old man, a woman of 47, and a boy of 14 were home, so the men left with only a small amount of money they found by searching the home.

Women showing more than their cash are subjecting themselves to danger, too.
thinking of doing the same thing ... move the vehicle ... sneak back in ... wait with ample authority.
The whole Facebook concept flys in the face of everything I ever learned about navigating the net back in the 90s. Pseudo screen names on message boards and/or chat rooms and NEVER disclose your real name, address etc. Seems like Facebook is an affront to all that and people unwary pay the price.
Do they use a lot of US dollars in Australia?
The younguns are playing with a different set of rules,....
i bet it was someone who knew the girl, knew her address and decided they needed the cash more than her grandmother did.
Why the U.S. cash stash in Australia?
hahahah I can see some enterprising Citizens using this to their advantage to get in some LIVE target Practice.
If you are going to post images of your cash then please include your weapons so miscreants will know what to expect
No Idea,....I’ll ask Fred.
It is immoral to allow a fool to keep his money.
LOL....That’s a good one.
A student of mine posted a pic of $300 that he was going to buy something with, I messaged him, and he took it down, but BOY was that stupid.
You just do not put pics up of your money on facebook.
Kansas City Bankroll ?
A buffalo rifle and 50 caliber really have some punch to the ears.
DUH, the people who SAW the picture were FRIENDS of hers, unless one of her friends posted it to a circle of friends who reposted it to “friends of friends”.
I don’t buy someone randomly pulling up a profile out of “2 billion accounts” that may have been public.
Man, I would so hate to make up that bed in the morning...
So does Facebook have the IP addresses of all those who accessed this image?
These kinds of people are too stupid to use Tor or other methods of anonymizing.
