At least Dali was a shameless huckster, which was a step up from the rest of the modern “artists.”
Dali was IMHO an excellent artist and amazingly prolific. If you have never been to a full Dali exhibit you owe it to yourself.
Sure he pushed the envelope, but he had artistic talent.
Not to mention marketing talent.
