Hey is that Darren and Samantha??
It looks a lot more like a Carrera GT than a 911.
.....yep.
Personally, I like yours better.
Yes it is. It is from an episode called “The Super Car”.

Want.
A friend of mine who lives in LA was out on a mountain romp with his British car club and some guy drove up in one of those. He pulled into a scenic overlook where the club had stopped and when he got out and took off his helmut, it was Jay Leno!
Must have been pre-65. 65 on up they went to a 4.2L (same basic engine, just bored out). Mine is a 67 Series 1 (Last year of the glass covered lights and triple SU Carbs.)

The jaunt to which I referred happened in ‘68. I remember the car had the headlight covers and some funky looking seats that looked like high back barstool chairs.
As I recall there was no syncro on first gear. (Or it might have been worn out, but I accidentally tried to downshift and I “ground a pound.”)
It was still a really, really great car. I’ve been working on my old age wish list. Last year I got an old motorcycle (which I ride every day that it doesn’t rain.) Now there are two old cars I want. The XKE is first on the list, followed by (don’t laugh!) a Fiat 124 Spyder with the full Abarth performance kit.
For some reason I thought the E’s came with Stromberg carbs?
As I recall there was no syncro on first gear.
The seats would suggest it was pre-65 as does the non-syncro first gear. In 62-63 and 64 the seats were as you describe and the car lacked syncro in first. By 65 the seats looked more normal (squared backs instead of the rounded-back bucket-like seats. Also I think 65 is when they introduced the full syncro gearbox. So the car you describe, with a 3.8, was most likely one of those 3 early years. (I used to own a 62 Coupe)
Why even waste our time with this? This is what these poltroons live for—adulation and homage. We only cater to their desires when we recognize them.
That's gotta be the post of the day! Perfect visual that couldn't happen to a more innocous yet annoying lib.
I like the idea that Steven Tyler is alive because as long as he is alive I know that I am not the ugliest man on the planet.
Tyler needs something like this to draw the eyes away from his man-boobs and from his hideous hair weave.
not to mention the McLaren roof inlet on the hardtop...
I'm the US distributor of "ALEF" audio amplifiers ($60K and up...) and who designed the audio system for the Pagani. When I visited ALEF in northern Italy, they arranged personal, after hours tour of Pagani - absolutely stunning!

Where have I heard that one before???
