Very nice.
I don’t believe the number is that high to begin with. There are a LOT of people who believe in the more Libertarian version of “pro-choice” meaning they can control their bodies. If you actually asked these people honest questions in the poll such as, “Do you support the aborting of a foetus in the third trimester?” or “Do you support the aborting of a foetus after an ultrasound shows a heartbeat?” then the numbers would likely plummet into the abyss.
There’s a very devious campaign of word-play at work making it hard to discern intent, and the lesser-brained Americans tend to be cowed into thinking that “pro-choice” means they can choose and “pro-life” means they have no choice but to give birth to the child. When forced to choose between the two, most people will respond by saying they don’t want to be forced into anything.
FWIW, I’m ardently pro-life, so don’t flame me for my observation.
“Seems like the more the leftists advocate a war on babies, the more Americans hug those little babies, and protect them.”
Interesting that a leftist will hug a tree yet butcher a human child.
Here’s the thing that bothers me about this argument. Anti-abortion people, too often, abdicate control of the language to the liberal mindset. Look at this poll “Pro-Life” vs “Pro-Choice”. Truthfully, the question should be put forth as a choice between “Anti-Abortion” vs “Pro-Abortion”. If we are going to use the term “Pro-Life”, we should use the “anit” version of it, or more accurately the term “Pro-Death”.
Guarantee you that if the argument is phrased like that; which is 100% accurate, the numbers and the open attitudes towards abortion would skew so heavily away from it that acceptance of it would go back to what it was before Roe vs Wade.
