That might not be wise.It's easy to see why a judge might be afraid to render a "not guilty" for fear of the consequences to him/herself or family.Or,if judges in that jurisdiction are elected that *too* could present huge problems for Zimmerman.What the defense should demand is that jurors be allowed to remain entirely anonymous as is done in some Mafia trials.

They get a certain number of Peremptory challenges. Peremptory challenge usually refers to a right in jury selection for the defense and prosecution to reject a certain number of potential jurors who appear to have an unfavorable bias without having to give any reason.

The chance is zero. You cannot peremptory challenge based on race. In fact, the other side can make a complaint if they they show a pattern that you are challenging based on a protected class.
