In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Pellucid
Adjective
pellucidity, pellucidness noun
pellucidly adverb
[Latin pellcidus, from pellcre, to shine through : per-, through; see per- + lcre, to shine; see leuk- in Indo-European roots.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I poached eggs just now and new dog and little dog loved them. New dog actually knows how to roll over. Someone spent a lot of time with him. He is a quick learner too since my youngest taught him kennel the other day in about 15 minutes. He still would love to chase and bite the cat so we’ll work on that some more today.
Missed that quote from Van Jones. About time someone on the left questioned Holder’s incompetency. A+++
Another day, another attempt to make money that isn’t there-thanks, Obama...
With Obama and his enemies list
He’s channeling Nixon’s mind
And those who give him cover
Are getting harder to find
The good Rev Wright is talking
About the money and the blunder
Pissed about being silenced and
The bus he was thrown under
If it all becomes as pellucid
As glass, it won’t be pretty-
Axelrod and Holder may be called
The new Haldeman and Liddy
The message is pellucid: This guy attracts more weirdos than Facebook.

A+++ Excellent as usual.
Gorgeous day here. Sunny, cool breeze for my morning walk. Nice. Except my MP3 player died and I had to finish my walk without Jonah.
The Vatican has allowed the image of Catholic universities to be demeaned for decades. Not sure they can help at this point.
More elitist Hollyweirdos who want to run our country into the ground. Thanks, but NO thanks. A+++
Here's a great article on Obama could learn from Sarah Palin
Life is really about the moments and whether were ready to take advantage of them. We can meet someone and have a wonderful connection, then back off because of fear or pre-existing plans and hope another one comes along. But many times when that moment or person is gone, we never have the opportunity again. The same holds true in politics.
Though if your really lucky, opportunities do came back around again.
Thank you!
I don’t own one of those, but this is the middle of nowhere and the natural sounds are pleasant to listen to. Any noise of any significant volume can be heard for a couple of miles out here-especially music. You wouldn’t believe some of the things I’ve heard being discussed by workers who are grading driveways, building decks, etc on nearby properties as I’m just hiking through the woods. And yes, sometimes I do stop in a hidden spot to sit down and listen/eavesdrop while I eat the fruit or sandwich I’ve brought with me...
On a nice evening, when windows are open I can walk out in the yard and tell what music is coming from which neighbor’s house on the road 1/2 mile up the hill, never mind right on this road. Right now, these green cicada things start rasping back and forth to each other starting at dusk and not ending until just before dawn. It is a very pleasant noise, but loud.
Thanks, muchly.
I live in a village and walk my neighborhood. Some days just seeing the ear plugs keeps neighbors from stopping me to chat endlessly. Other days I have the time and inclination to chat. Just depends on my schedule. I have a step counter and a goal for the day.
If I was going to encounter a busybody neighbor on every walk, I’d be wearing a headset, too. But 3 of my 5 neighbors work on the road and are only here on weekends, so I can walk for 2-3 miles without encountering a soul until near dark on most days.
LMAO! So, Fauxcashontas-pray tell us which tribe discovered mayo, and when...
According to the insect info sites I’ve visited, the nocturnal creatures making the loud chirping sounds are some kind of katydids-not cicadas. Interesting...
