Professional snake handler was rushed to the hospital and give anti-venom after being bitten, official said
A professional snake handler was bitten by a three-foot long Indian cobra during a show in Hollywood on Saturday , officials with the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.
The 24-year-old woman was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital after she was having respiratory problems, officials said.
She had been performing at the Miccosukee Indian Facility when she was bitten, authorities said.
The Venom Response Team gave the woman five vials of anti-venom to decrease her symptoms, a report said.
Authorities on Sunday said the victim was fine and would not have long-term effects from the bite.
Mess with the Bull you get the horn.
Wrong kind of Indian.....
Florida will be a much more interesting place once it gets an indiginous Cobra population.
They already got pythons there.
Love Animal Planet's "Swamp Wars" on Sunday Night.
Years ago in town had cretin who collected snakes - poisonous snakes
One day was bitten on arm by Gabon viper while trying to
feed it
Rushed him up I 80 to Jacoby Hospitial in Bronx - got
anti venom from Bronx Zoo
Town told him either snakes go or you go - he left
I hate snakes.
She should stick to gator wrasslin’.
Thay were seen in Florida before. Mr. Carr saw a large one about 1.5 miles from my place in the ‘Glades. It was long enough to have head and tail well hidden in the brush alongside the 8 foot wide road.
He stoped his car to avoid hitting it. From the color and pattern, he knew it was not a diamond back rattler or a water moccasin. As he approached, the head came into view and reared up a few feet - then the hood spread out.
He left.
Too bad he didn’t run over it. He called Haasat at the Serpentarium and was told another had been reported some 50 miles away. Haast’’s comment is worth remembering: “Let’s hope they never meet>’
I have enough dealing with the indigenous vipers, pythons, green anacondas and the uniformed snakes in the grass. Cobras
I don’t think this Cobra is a Floridian, too pale.

Isn't that to be expected? .... bitten by a super poisonous snake and about to croak....and your breathing begins to stop?
Crazy lady. That is a King Cobra who would be most interested in eating other snakes but I wouldn’t trust that and get within ten yards of the sucker.
