You are right. There was a “Q” word used and I thought it meant someone was strange. I was probably a junior or senior before someone explained the term. That was something that went pretty much under the radar where I lived.

If you mean queer for the “Q” word, we also used it as someone who was strange but nothing sexual...like the word pansy...but then, pansy had the meaning of someone who was non masculine do to no guts.
