Thank you!
Roof gardens are neat-this customer is playing with the idea of a turf roof on his remodeled garage, but I don’t think it is going to happen-my contractor friend thinks it is inappropriate for both the terrain and the existing structure-I tend to agree-it will just be a flooding hazard and a dirt slide onto his driveway when it rains like it has this week...
What about moss or buffalo grass?
the more wars O conducts, the more enemies to vote against him come Nov....he can have at it all he wants. A+++
My yard is mostly Buffalo grass-the Comanche hybrid variety-very drought tolerant, I love it-but the problem with the customer’s garage roof is that-for reasons too convoluted to be understood by reasonable minds-it backs up on a cliff that overhangs about 40% of it. Hence the flooding/washing out. If it were me, I’d tear the thing down and rebuild it elsewhere on the property.
It’s hard to convince people to do something reasonable once they get a crazy idea in their heads.
True, but if he wants us to do the remodel, he is going to have to stay within the perameters of what is reasonable to solve his garage flooding problem-not add to it just because he saw something on the internet and thought it was cool. The contractor friend I work for doesn’t want to be sued, no matter how hard work is to come by right now, and I’m not going to work on something crazy, either.
Thank you! Apparently, he isn’t as smart a sleazy lawyer as Nixon was-he can’t help blabbing about his enemies list to the wrong people...
hm, right. newfound calendars made in china along with the crystal skulls. ; )
Bertie! where ya been? how’s things?? good to see ya : )
“made in china along with the crystal skulls”
Isn’t Chinese ingenuity wonderful...
And this month only, we have special on assorted “human” bones, made of lifelike materials and complete with cut marks to prove human sacrifice/ ritual cannibalism-guaranteed to pass all but scientific inspection. Only 20,000 yuan for 12 assorted bones, funerary jar included...
Blah-I’m not really hungry for dinner-I made a little turkey and cheese wrap for lunch. It isn’t raining now, so I think I’ll go walk in the woods for awhile then make a salad when I get back.
I went with a grilled cheese sammich a few minutes ago. It was perfect, just the right golden tones.
Now that I’ve scraped 2 pounds of mud off my boots-I opened a can of water packed tuna, picked a few leaves of the spring greens growing in the yard, cut up some green onion, 1/2 of a cucumber, a small tomato. a spritz of vinagrette, a pinch of lemon pepper, a bit of stone ground mustard and stirred the whole mess together-it is pretty tasty-wish I’d thought to boil and slice an egg for it, though...
And another 3rd world country which I can’t remember. His father’s name was Peter and he was with the Ford Foundation. In fact, he hired Bam’s mother in Indonesia. The Geithners bragged that they never hung around with other Americans. They spent their time with the natives.
How can you not like the only sandwich with the butter on the outside?
At 7 this morning I was hiking in the woods about 1/2 mile away, enjoying the mist, silence and solitude-until I heard a screech that chilled my blood. No, not a mountain lion-a peacock-and when I stepped out of the forest to have a look, there he was, proud and loud, perched on the windmill belonging to a neighbor up the hill.
That neighbor recently put a higher fence around their yard, and now I know why-they had a few peafowl until about a year ago, and most of us had almost gotten used to the nocturnal screeching, when some enterprising varmints got over the fence and dragged them off one by one. The quiet was nice, but with the raising of the fence and the restocking of the birds, I suppose I’d better get used to “raaaghaaaaaa” shattering the night and early morning hours once more...
Oh they are LOUD! We used to like taking the kids to the quad at Ft. Sam to see them and the deer.
When MrT5 was stationed at Ft. Sam, all personnel available were required to attend the 4th of July concert. We used to go early to stroll around the quad and interact with the animals while he sweated in uniform. Besides deer and peafowl, they had some rabbits and gamecocks running around, too. I’ve missed experiencing the 1812 in person with real cannon and fireworks right beside you since moving out here-nothing compares.
