More sensationalistic journalism. It is a gar. Any research at all would tell you what this fish is. By the way, they are not too bad eating, but the skin is like iron. My father-in-law butchers them in pieces with an axe. Then make a circle just inside the skin to skin it. He mowed a piece of the skin all summer one year and did not destroy it.

I agree that it's a gar, but gar are not known to be native to Asia. Either it's an introduced specimen, or somebody just discovered a new species in the genus Lepisosteidae.
