“The ducks are considered non-natives to Florida and invasive, so moving them somewhere else is prohibited. A federal rule that went into effect in 2010 placed the Muscovy ducks on a list of federally protected birds.”
Sort of like illegal aliens. ;)

Muscovy ducks are mean, ugly, aggressive, and the final insult is they don’t even taste good. How can they be protected? You can drive them away, can’t eat them, can make a pet of them. Not good for anything, let alone to protect them. Heck, even the dogs wouldn’t go near them.
