Lame-duck republicans like Olympia Snowe, Richard Lugar and (hopefully) Orrin Hatch will help him. They love this crap.

Treaties are not permanent. The president can abrogate a treaty, though I doubt Romney would have to stones to do it.

What if, once he is out of office they address the constitutional elligibility issue hanging over Obama? What if they find his presidency unconstitutional? Does that mean everything he has done is undone? I’m just curious. I don’t really much about this scenario, I was just doing a little wishful thinking this morning over coffee.

Cannot happen. While they have 60, they don’t have 67.

No way these would get ratified and the House would Impeach Obama for doing so. Too much toe-jam, Morris. See also Unratified Treaties, Domestic Politics, and the U.S. Constitution which discusses the limited force such a signed but unratified treaty enjoys.

He won’t be able to get any treaty past the Senate, but people are going to be outraged by his clemency pardons.

Yes if Dick said that he was wrong....but he was CORRECT in assuming Obama will be VERY DANGEROUS between November 6, 2012 and January 20, 2013.

I expect him to pardon terrorists, give away military secrets to our enemies, and open the border floodgates.

Dems get help from folks like Lugar. He is especially enamored of treaties that surrender US sovereignty.

Dude can sign all the treaties he wants but two things:

1. He cannot usurp the Constitution

2. He will never ever get a 2/3rd affirmation in the Senate.

Sounds scary though.

We will control 57 votes for sure and if we get lucky barely 60 and in a pipe dream 62.

Where would Obama get 67 votes to ratify such insane treaties? I would have thought Morris would know this.

I'm sure he does but Morris is never reluctant to stretch the truth to sell a few more books. IMHO he is no longer a reliable source.

Morris is a media whore. He’s figured out he can make money pimping to conservatives. Still don’t mean he right.

When nobama loses, all we’ll get to see lots of pissin our money away on GOV paid vacations. Those really in power will whisper in his ear to not try to pull some shite, as it might not be in his best longterm interest.

Don’t forget that another motivation to do this is to clog up the legislative process—allowing more mischief to be done—bills and compromises to be passed, due to lack of time.

Treaties do have to have Senate action, and overloading the system—even with things that won’t pass—is just another democRat method of getting other stuff through that a more deliberative process would of rejected.

Personally, I fear a national emergency—financial or terrorist—will allow 0 the excuse to seize dictatorial powers...

Obama will pass every imaginable communist treaty he can before he leaves office.

Obama’s replacement has a case of Bic lighters for his first day in office.
