Supermoon and the sky in Dallas

Went down to White Rock Lake this evening to feed the turtles and watch the moon rise. Pretty impressive display by old Luna.

Met a guy named Mike with an awesome Sigma lens on his camera. The sky near the horizon was good, but once she got up in the sky it was all high clouds.
Crappy viewing, but my dog was happy with the kids on the bridge by the boathouse patting her, so all is good in Garland.

The moon rises in Dallas, as the sun sets on the Mavericks.

Hi, West Texas Chuck—I’d forgotten about the Supermoon, but I really did notice it tonight from the inside of the house. Thanks for the reminder! I’m going out to get a picture. :)
Take care—I lived in TX for six months when I was younger—you couldn’t find any nicer people :) Actually, in general I loved talking with people from the South. Very friendly and polite (I was raised in Chicago). :)

I’m going out in a few minutes to see if the clouds have backed off. This is supposedly a bigger one from an astronomical standpoint.
40% brighter? Ain’t sure about that yet. Turning off some lights.

We are getting some pretty darn lazy FReepers. How can you have a thread like this without a picture.

You got me there guns, I wish I had the SIM card out of that dude’s camera on the bridge.
You don’t want to see the crappy photos my wife’s phone captured. They suck.

I will be very happy with OKC or San Antonio winning....anybody but Miami or the Lakers.
And for one last time, FU Lamar Odam, and your fat ho wife.

Down further South, the haze from the Agricultural fires across the border kinda ruined the Supermoon. Now, it sounds like we may be getting some moisture (or maybe just thunder) coming off the Sierra Madres.
Final for the Spurs 103-90 over Utah..Spurs lead 3-0.

I completely agree re: anybody but the Lakers or the Heat! And I share your sentiments about Mr. and Mrs. Kardasian.
I took my “Bitter about this” pill and have moved on.
There must be something wrong with my sky. I’m pretty east, so that maybe the problem. It’s a great looking moon, but I have seen better. I’ll look again before I go to bed (soon).
But, imho, the fall harvest moon is more spectacular.
