A United Nations investigator probing discrimination against Native Americans has called on the US government to return some of the land stolen from Indian tribes as a step toward combatting continuing and systemic racial discrimination.
James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples, said no member of the US Congress would meet him as he investigated the part played by the government in the considerable difficulties faced by Indian tribes.
Anaya said that in nearly two weeks of visiting Indian reservations, indigenous communities in Alaska and Hawaii, and Native Americans now living in cities, he encountered people who suffered a history of dispossession of their lands and resources, the breakdown of their societies and "numerous instances of outright brutality, all grounded on racial discrimination".

Tell the UN to wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills up.

Perhaps we should start with a piece of land on Manhattan Island along the East River.

Uh, how exactly was the land "stolen"? It was won through force of arms, or dealmaking (as with all of Manhattan Island). Does every other nation on Earth have to also "return" their land to its "original" inhabitants? From what date to what date? Do we return Israel to the Turks? Or All of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, part of Iraq and all of the Sinai to Israel? And how about the fact that the "American Indians" were not even the first to enter this continent? Recent
Smithsonian research asserts that Ice Age Europeans beat the so-called "Native Americans" to North America by as much as 10,000 years. So shouldn't the Indians return THEIR land (and casino profits) to the Europeans?

A-typical U.N. “investigator” with an agenda seeks confirmation of U.N. agenda he’s paid to investigate (with our tax dollars undoubtedly), finds cooperative “victims”, and of course is open to discussion of all sides of the issues of course /S.
That would be why American members of Congress were all lined up to discuss the matter with him /S.
Tell ‘em to bugger off.

I agree with all you are saying except for one part.....Israel has always had a deed to their land. It was given to them in the book of Genesis. It is the only country in the existence of mankind that has a deed to the land.
